About me

As a matter of fact, it is hard to come across a physicist with a strong affinity for poetry. Fortunately for you, I am one. My name is Akinyemi AbdulMalik.

My journey to poetry was inspired by a girl I saw on TV long before I chose to study Physics in the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). Although I have a vague recollection of her words, the feeling I got hereafter still lingers in my heart. She recited the poem she had composed so beautifully that I felt like hugging her through the screen.

The path of poetry led me to other genres like fiction, essay, and so on. In 2016, I bagged the second prize for the GIC national essay competition. Currently, I am working on my first novel. And don't be surprised, I hardly post stories because I spend a lot of time sticking my nose into the non-story posts you find on this space. However, HERE are the few I've posted. Enjoy!

NB: Except stated otherwise, the write-ups on this blog are mine

My works have been published in Cliqq Magazine, Al-Furqaan Magazine, Byme poetry, The Islamic World of Talents' anthology, NewsRescue and so on.

Rain Rain

In order to echo my own voice and the voice of others, and also to entertain people and make reading fun, I created this blog. Trust me, there is still a lot to discover. Please, feel free to explore. Don't forget to subscribe to our newsletter. And remember, there is always something to write; something to read; and the pens of scribes have not gone to their eternal rest. Love you *wink*
